Messages to the Young People

For the next two months, the members of our AYMV Department are tasked to give the message to the young people during the AY program every Sabbath afternoon. We drew lots for the sequence of speakers.

For this series of messages we decided to use a downloaded material from the GC Youth Department Website, it is a week of prayer sermon list that we need to study. Since there are only a few youth members in our church, it fits perfectly the 8 sermons on the material. You can also try using the book Messages to Young People by E.G. White, You can assign a chapter per person. The person assigned will make a short but concise sermon/message and then create some few discussion questions after the sermon. These discussion questions will be used during the group dynamics after each sermon.

Group the church congregation into 4-5 groups, depending on your audience size. Let them discuss and answer by themselves the discussion questions, After giving them 5-7 minutes to discuss, give another 2-3 minutes for a representative to share the highlights of their discussion to everyone, if time permits also ask a song from each group.

I believe that this is one way to encourage each members of the youth to participate in the programs of the church, as well as to enhance their speaking/preaching skills. Assign their topics ahead of time to be able to give them a lot of time to prepare. You can also come up with different ways to make the group discussion more interesting.

I will be posting each Powerpoint Presentation we will make every week, along with the group discussion questions.
